Overview
Did you know you can identify a tree species just by looking at the twig? Leaves are not the only characteristic that defines a tree species; bark, twigs, buds, shape, and even smell can be used to identify a tree during the winter months.
Join us as we take a closer look at the diverse species of trees present along our property at Buffalo Creek Nature Park and up onto the Butler-Freeport Trail. We will discuss the wildlife benefit and historical use of the various species encountered.
Advance registration required. $6 per Audubon Member; $10 per nonmember. This is an outdoor program. The terrain at Buffalo Creek Nature Park can be uneven, wet, muddy, and/or icy during the winter months. Pleae be sure to wear proper shoes and come dressed for the weather. We will meet in the Classroom inside the Nature Center.
