Have you ever seen Moraine State Park in the winter?
The snow and cold temperatures create so much natural beauty in the the park. From the snowy pines, to the frozen lake, it is truly a sight to see! Come celebrate the winter with us at this free, family friendly event at McDanels launch. We will have:

- Try your hand at Disc Golf

WINTERFEST IS THE PLACE FOR LEARNING!
- Crowd favorite, Tamarack Wildlife Center is back again in 2025 with Ambassador birds to give you an up-close look at some amazing raptors! Be sure to look for them in the Owlet.
- Damian Skal- chainsaw carver, and longtime Winterfest attendee, will be on hand again to show us his amazing talents and to give you the chance to take home some beautiful pieces to add to your decor. You can find him just outside of the Owlet!
- DCNR State Park Educators- Join the Park Environmental Education Specialist team for fun interactive experiences. Look for the staff from PA Fish and Boat and the PA Game Commission nearby as well.
- Team members from the Macoskey Center will join us again in 2025 with mini demos that reflect their summer camps for kids!
- Journey on the Fly will be back to help you perfect your fly casting! Join Adam down at water’s edge
- Pittsburgh Disc Golf will be on hand to teach you about this year-round fun activity in the park! It’s a load of fun and they’ll help you perfect your technique!
- Learn about summer sailing with the Moraine Sailing Club. Find them near the launch area!
- Allegheny Mountain Rescue will be on hand to teach you about the important work that they do. Did you know they practice in the park?
- Chat with the folks from the Butler Chapter of the North Country Trail Association
- Stop by to visit the team from Wildlife in Need PA to learn what to do when you find injured or ill wildlife
