Disc Golf
Butler County is an excellent location for disc golf. The PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships were held in western PA in 2015, utilizing two of our courses, and the PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships will be held here in 2026.
Moraine State Park has a par 66 course with three sets of tees gold (1000-rated), blue (950-rated), and white (900-rated). Scenic and challenging, this course is loved by the pros. Slippery Rock University’s disc golf course is an 18-hole course that features many wide open holes around the university's campus and athletic fields. The par 65 layout has green (novice), white (intermediate) and gold (pro) level tees and three pin locations per hole. North Boundary Park boasts an 18-hole Championship disc golf course and a six-hole Learn-to-Play recreational course.

Butler County has three sheets of ice, including the official practice facility of the Pittsburgh Penguins! The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex has brought dozens of hockey tournaments and competitions; it holds two full-size rinks and seats approximately 1,000 spectators.
Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a growing and dynamic sport in Butler County. From high school stadiums to community fields, the county boasts several venues with a dozen fields–both artificial turf and grass surfaces.
Motor Racing
Like dirt and driving fast? Lernerville Speedway is one of the best-maintained and successful dirt tracks in the country. The dirt oval track is a half mile and there is seating for approximately 12,000 spectators.

Butler County boasts 66 pickleball courts in over a dozen venues.
