Overview
Cold weather can make it difficult to get a fire going; however frozen conditions make for very dry tinder!
In this program we will learn how to find natural fire making materials in winter and make ferrocerium rod fire kits for you to take home. If the sun is out we can use lenses to ignite our fires!
Limit is 12 people, advance registration is required by January 24, 2026. $25 per Audubon member; $35 per nonmember. Most of this program takes place outside; be sure to wear proper shoes and dress for the weather. The grounds during the winter months can be wet, muddy, and/or icy.
