2022 Sports Destinations Management Economic Impact Champion
Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau’s 2021 Dick’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic Honored as a 2022 Champion of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism by Sports Destinations Management. Event at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex has $2.5 million economic impact.
(ZELIENOPLE, PA) November 2, 2022 - Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced the 2022 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. This year’s winners are responsible for contributing a more-than-welcome boost of over $2.42 billion to the national economy over the past year.
Among the winners is Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau’s 2021 Dick’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic, at the UPMC Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa.
Seventeen USHL teams and 30 youth organizations participated in this national event which resulted in 3,357 room nights and a $2.5 million total economic impact. The Fall Classic is a great opportunity for scouts and fans to see future NCAA and NHL talent in one place.
