Mars PA Celebration Brings in NASA, Drones, Martian-Themed Fun
Discover the wonders of space at the Mars New Year Festival! The town of Mars, PA, is partnering with NASA’s Solar System Ambassadors to celebrate the “new year” for the red planet.
Attendees will experience presentations on the latest in lunar, Martian, and deep-space exploration. Speakers will represent organizations including The Kennedy Space Center, The Allegheny Conservatory, the University of Pittsburgh, and West Virginia University.
Dr. Soyeon Yi, the first South Korean Astronaut to go to space, will share her space-travel experience.
Explorers of all ages can engage in hands-on exhibits & experiments demonstrating the latest in space & robotics research.
In addition to educational activities, this family-friendly event will include alien-themed fun with a space-themed concert, a robotics village, a Mars costume contest, a maker space, and a nighttime drone show with 200 drones in the sky compared to the 2023 event with 100 drones.
The event will run Friday, June 6, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, June 7 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. A full schedule for the two-day event along with other information can be found on their website marsnewyear.com
