Mighty Moraine Event Brings Athletes From Around the World to Butler County

(August 10, 2026, Portersville, PA.) – Moraine State Park, located just 40 minutes outside Pittsburgh in Portersville, PA, is the venue for the upcoming Pennsylvania State Triathlon Championships on August 15 and 16.

During this prestigious event, athletes from across the state will swim, bike, and run their way to the podium.

“This event is the perfect opportunity to introduce Butler County to new people!’ said EBC President Amy Pack. “We hope it inspires them to return and vacation in our beautiful county beyond race weekend.”

There are competitions for athletes of all ages and skill levels; no qualification required. The state triathlon allows competing athletes not only to earn an official state champion title but also a pathway to qualifying for the USA Triathlon National Championships (USAT).

The Fall Mighty Moraine, an annual event by EBC partner Get Fit Families, is excited to be the host to these championships. Get Fit Families hosts two events annually as part of their Mighty Moraine Multi-Sport series, one in the spring and one toward the fall.
