(PORTERSVILLE, Pa., MAY 20, 2025) The Preston’s Pearl 40 passenger pontoon boat at Moraine State Park, a key attraction named after park co-creator Frank Preston, will begin its season on Saturday, May 24th.
Launched in the summer of 2021, these 90-minute tours aim to offer a unique and educational experience to the park's nearly two million annual visitors. The Moraine Preservation Fund (MPF) manages the program with commercially licensed and certified captains who volunteer their time and part-time, seasonal first mate staff who share information about the park's history, wildlife, and preservation efforts.
“Our partnership with MPF is crucial,” said Amy Pack, President of Experience Butler County. “Programs like the Preston’s Pearl tours support the outdoor recreation-related tourism sector, which brought over 114 million dollars to the county in 2024.”
Beyond the standard tours, MPF offers expanded options including dinner and brunch cruises, fall foliage tours, and pizza parties. Private charters are also available for various events. The boat features an open-air upper deck giving passengers a truly unique view of Lake Arthur.
Check the cruise calendar for upcoming cruise dates and times. Tickets cost $19 for adults, $10 for children under 12 and infants 2 and under are free. Special tours will be offered during the Moraine State Park Regatta on August 2nd and 3rd. Tickets can be purchased at the Owlet Gift Shop within the park or online.
