Overview

The Muddy Creek Oil Well is an award-winning restoration site of an antique oil well. The Bessemer Gas Engine and Marshall-Barr No. 19 oil well equipment is restored and open for visitors to hear and see the industry that powered this region. So come out and see the Bessemer engine pump some Pennsylvania crude! The well will operate from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM one Saturday a month.
The central powerhouse site is located beyond the State Parks Region 2 office, 195 Park Road, Prospect PA, (Prospect exit, Park Road is Old 422 off Route 528). Follow Signs. Open dates are dependent on volunteer availability and weather conditions, check Moraine, McConnells Mill, Jennings Commission (3MJC) Facebook page or call Moraine State Park office 724 368-8811 to confirm.
